Labor Day Party Planning 101: Here is What You Need to Have

Labor Day is often considered to be the last opportunity for families and friends to get together before kids head back to school and holiday planning begins. So this year, be sure to see the summer out with a bang by throwing an epic Labor Day soiree!

Here is everything you need for a great finale to Summer 2018.

1. An Upgraded Menu

By now, you’ve likely had your share of summer barbecue staples like hot dogs, hamburgers, and potato salad. So mix it up for Labor Day with parmesan garlic grilled corn, blueberry, strawberry & jicama salsa, or one of these tasty kabob recipes. Or, take the work out of menu-planning completely! Check out this concession menu, with party favorites such as popcorn, pretzels and churros.

2. Showcased Beverages

Having an outdoor party in the summer heat calls for plenty of cold, refreshing drinks. Consider renting large beverage tubs and spreading them out so guests can easily grab their own canned or bottled beverages without having to traipse through your house to the fridge. If you’re feeling creative and would like to showcase a signature drink like sangria or punch, you will want to rent beverage dispensers for self-service drink stations.

3. A Comfortable Outdoor Space

This is your last chance to show off the hard work you’ve been putting into your garden and outdoor space all summer. You’ll also want to make sure you have plenty of seating and lighting for your guests so they’re comfortable all night. Check out more tips for pulling off the perfect outdoor party here.

4. Games, Games, Games!

Spice up your gathering by providing entertaining games for your guests. There are always classic options like cornhole, bocce and croquet. Or you can organize a group bingo game that will encourage your guests to start conversations with people they may not know as well. Motivate the kids to get involved by offering a prizes. Lifesize games like Giant Jenga are always a crowd hit for any generation.

5. Festive Decor

The greatest part about Labor Day is that you don’t have to stick to a particular them. Check out these tabletop linens to pick fun colors and make your party your own. Plus, Including summery pieces like pineapples and beach balls will keep your party colorful and casual.
