Tasked with throwing your next company holiday party? That’s a big responsibility, so let’s be sure it goes off without a hitch! No matter what type of office party you’re throwing, the goal is to make sure everyone has a great time and feels comfortable. Here are some surprisingly easy corporate holiday party ideas that will encourage everyone to loosen up and enjoy themselves.

Team Spirit

Do you have an office full of sports fans? Give your holiday party a sports theme! It’s a great way to let everyone show off their favorite team gear no matter what sport that they enjoy. Purchase multiple Christmas trees and encourage coworkers to join together in a contest to deck out their trees in theme with their favorite team. Hold a viewing and vote on the best-dressed tree! This is a fun way to incite some healthy, creative rivalry. The casual atmosphere will make everyone feel comfortable participating. Play sports trivia games or rent a cornhole set for a true tailgate vibe. If fact, even if the weather is chilly, cornhole can easily be set up inside if you have a spacious hallway available.

Festive Casino Night

Or, put on your poker face and let your employees enjoy a night of classy gambling. Make this one a black-tie affair; everyone loves to feel like James Bond once in a while. Bring co-workers together to play casino games while sipping on cocktails. Parents especially will appreciate an adult night out of the house. Blackjack, roulette, and poker tables can all be rented for the night in order to make your party an absolute blast. Keep decorations elegant. Black linens and classic red accents will do the trick. Speaking of tricks, how fun would it be to hire a magician for some extra entertainment as well?

Holiday Potluck & Cookie Exchange

A good old fashioned potluck can be a great way to have a holiday party if the budget is tight. Just provide flatware and enough tables and chairs for the gathering. Additionally, encourage employees to bake a dozen or so of their favorite holiday cookie for a cookie swap! Essentially, every guest makes one type of treat. Then, the cookies are divided up –  one per plate – so that everyone leaves with a variety of cookies to eat (or re-gift)! Decorate the tables with holiday centerpieces and be sure to provide paper lunch bags so that cookies are easily transported home afterward. This would also be a great time for other holiday crafts if you have a creative bunch. A photo booth would be a blast too and it’s always fun to have those polaroid souvenirs to reminisce on Monday.
